This piece was handbuilt from red wild clay, dug in Virginia and salt fired to cone 10. The surface is raw—shaped by fire, not glaze. The salt sealed it with shadow and grit, leaving a deep, natural finish that shifts in the light.

You’ll see the slouch in the form, the pull of gravity mid-build, and the places where it held together anyway.

Each piece in this series is part of a long practice: 10,000 pots, one penny more per piece.
