I set out with an unconventional approach—throwing each piece as tall as the clay would allow before dismantling and reassembling them. Using tools, and sometimes just my hands, I let the process dictate the form, allowing natural curves and unexpected textures to emerge in ways I can’t seem to produce otherwise. A lesson in setting parameters and letting gravity take over. The materials—a blend of commercial clay, mason stain, nepheline syenite, rocks, and native clay—interact organically, each asserting its presence, creating a piece that feels both discovered and made.
